I hadn't played a video game in years since I couldn't find a game controller that worked well for a quad. I had little interest unless I could be competitive in my preferred multiplayer aviation or racing games. By switch adapting arcade game controllers and integrating with a variety of adaptive switches and retro-style joysticks a great solution emerged. I personally use this controller.

PS2 controller pictured also supports PS3 with optional adapter. Joystick can function as left analog or digital D-pad on PS2, PC, Xbox, & GameCube but will only function as digital D-pad on PS3. Switch adapted joystick optional - provides 4 ability switch jacks such as pictured on the side of Wii controller.

Differences Between Standard Controller to Be Aware of...

PS2 Controller Joystick can function as left analog joystick or d-pad on original controller via mode button with PS2 or PC. (Controls D-pad on PS3 only, not analog joystick) Does not have a method of controlling the right analog joystick on the standard OEM controller. This is primarily a limitation in first person shooter games where movement is controlled with the left joystick and aiming is controlled with the right joystick. This can be resolved in many games by selecting a controller configuration in the game setup which only utilizes the left joystick and button controls.

The joystick on the Xbox 360 controller and Wii Classic Controller compatible both function as the D-pad (4-way arrow buttons for thumb) on the original controllers, not the left or right analog joystick and obviously there is no support for the right analog joystick.

Try or rent games before buying and select ones appropriate to your skills and physical abilities. Racing, strategy, arcade, and fighting games are good choices. First person shooters and others with complex controls are best avoided.
