Returns, Refunds, & Warrenty Policy
Broadened Horizons, Inc. works very hard to ensure complete customer satisfaction. If you have a problem with any product delivered or service rendered, please contact us and we will do our best to resolve it.
Returns, Exchanges, and Refunds
15/30 Day 100% Satisfaction Guarantee! Broadened Horizons does not believe in shelfware. Quite simply our stuff gets used! Our customer testimonials attest to this. If you are dissatisfied for any reason Contact us within 15 days of original delivery so we can work with you to troubleshoot the problem or identify a more appropriate solution. This leaves an additional 10 to 15 days to process any exchanges, refunds back to your credit card, etc. within the maximum 30 days. If necessary, we will issue you a return authorization memo (RA) as described below. If a problem or dissatisfaction cannot be resolved any other way, a purchase may be exchanged for another product, or returned for refund or in-store credit within 30 days. For a full refund or exchange credit, product must be returned and received in new, resalable condition within 30 days of original receipt/delivery with all original packaging, accessories, user manuals, etc.
No returns will be accepted or refunds issued after 30 days. As elsewhere, software is nonrefundable. Returns without a valid return authorization RA memo included in the package will be shipped back at customers expense or subject to a 20% restocking fee with acceptance completely at Broadened Horizons discretion. Returns or exchanges found out of compliance (not received in new, resalable condition with all original components and packaging) will be charged a 20% restocking fee and/or charges for missing components. If the product has been used or damaged through abuse or in a manner other than intended, refund may be prorated up to 50% or denied at the sole discretion of Broadened Horizons, Inc. to be returned at customers expense. Custom orders and/or modifications, hygienic items, or that portion thereof are nonrefundable or minimally will incur a restocking fee if resalable.
A small number of certain products, including all software, due to the value of inherent research, compatibility testing, and resulting associated knowledge obtained with product and which can not be returned; difficulty of resaleability; or difficulty of open-box resaleability may not be returnable or minimally will always incur a 20% restocking fee. This is noted at the bottom of each applicable product's webpage.
In no event will Broadened Horizons Inc. be liable to purchaser or any other person for any lost profits, lost savings, or other special, consequential or incidental damages arising out of or relating to any product or service furnished or to be furnished by Broadened Horizons Inc. or the use thereof, even if Broadened Horizons Inc. has been advised of the possibility of such loss or damage, and the aggregate liability of Broadened Horizons Inc. upon any claims howsoever arising out of or relating to any products or services furnished or to be furnished by Broadened Horizons Inc. will in any event be absolutely limited to the amount paid by purchaser.
Return Material Authorization (RMA)
No Product may be returned directly to Broadened Horizons without first contacting Broadened Horizons through e-mail (highly preferred) or by phone at 612-851-1040 e-mail access is not available for a Return Material Authorization ("RMA") number. If through working with you to troubleshoot the product it is determined that the Product may be defective, you will be given an RMA number and instructions for Product return, repair, replacement, or other solution. An unauthorized return, i.e. one for which an RMA number has not been issued, may be returned to you at your expense. Authorized returns are to be shipped by customer prepaid and insured to the address on the RMA securely packaged in an approved shipping container.
Warranty Coverage
To ensure warranty coverage, be sure to register your purchase immediately if acquired through a Broadened Horizons reseller. If a product is believed to be defective, we will first work with you to troubleshoot the problem. If the problem cannot be resolved, the product is under warranty, and the problem seems to be a warrantable issue, we will issue a return authorization number so you can ship the product back to us or original manufacturer for repair or replacement at our discretion. If a product is no longer under warranty we will inform you of your options for repair if possible, replacement parts if available, or replacement options if available. We work hard to take care of our customers.
Warranty explicitly excludes physical damage, mishandling, introduction of foreign substances, improper or unintended use, unauthorized service or modification, alterations, and may be denied at Broadened Horizons discretion. Warranty does not cover any loss beyond repair or replacement of warranted product originally purchased. Warranty excludes all other equipment such as wheelchairs, loss of use or access to services, discomfort, or inconvenience.
Except as expressly provided above, products are furnished by Broadened Horizons Inc. and accepted by purchaser "As is", without any warranty whatsoever. Broadened Horizons Inc. specifically excludes and disclaims all other warranties, express or implied, including any warranties of merchantability or fitness for any particular purpose, and Articles 35(2)(a) and (b) of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (Vienna 1980).
Warranty Replacement Cross Shipments or Loaner Equipment. Warrantable product with valid return authorization RMA number must be received and examined before repair is performed or replacement shipped. No loan equipment will be provided. However many customers request a new replacement item is cross shipped immediately before returning the suspected problematic item. Cross shipments are not always available or possible, but if Broadened Horizons determines a cross shipment can be done, a credit card deposit payment must be made for the item or component being shipped out. When the defective or problematic component is received back and determined warrantable, the credit card will be credited back in full. If the item received is determined to not be warrantable or in obviously used condition, the credit card deposit may be subject to fees or returned product may be repaired and sent back to customer to fulfill warranty, in which case cross shipped item will have served as a loan and credit card will be credited back when cross shipped/loaned item is returned and received.
